Board of Directors

Maria graduated from the University of Warwick with an LL.B (Hons) and subsequently obtained a Master’s Degree (LL.M) in Commercial Law from the University of Bristol. She started her career at the Law offices of Andreas Neocleous & Co where she worked as an advocate in the Litigation Department and the Intellectual Property Department. She then worked for Elias Marine Consultants Ltd where she held the position of Legal Consultant/Claims Executive. She subsequently spent 3 years with the law firm of Costantinos M. Hadjipieras as an advocate in general, commercial and civil litigation. She is now an Advocate / Partner at KPK Legal of which she is one of the founding partners. Her main areas of practice include probate and administration of estates, civil litigation, family law and intellectual property law. She is a member of the Cyprus Bar Association.
Maria graduated from Kings College London, University of London with an LL.B (Hons) degree in Law and subsequently obtained a Masters Degree (MSc) in Law and Accounting from the London School of Economics & Political Sciences specialising on legal aspects of corporate finance and capital markets law and regulation. She started her career at the Law offices of Andreas Neocleous & Co and then spent 4 years at the Association of Cyprus Commercial Banks as a Legal Officer. She then worked for a multinational Group of Companies as an internal legal advisor and subsequently joined Kommunalkredit International Bank Ltd where she spent 4 years as a Senior Manager and Head of the Legal Department’s Capital Markets Desk. She is now an Advocate / Partner at KPK Legal of which she is one of the founding partners. Her main areas of practice cover all areas of corporate and commercial law, banking and capital markets law and regulation, bankruptcy and insolvency law. She is a member of the Cyprus Bar Association, the Society of Advanced Legal Studies and LSE Lawyers Group.
Kathryn graduated from the Metropolitan University of Manchester with an LL.B (Hons) degree in Law and, after having attended the Bar Vocational Course at the Inns of Court School of Law, she was called to the Bar by Gray’s Inn. She started her career at the Law offices of Cacoyannis & Co plc and then spent 7 years at the bank London Forfaiting Asia Ltd, where she set up and headed the legal department. She then spent 4 years at the Law offices of Chrysses Demetriades & Co in the shipping finance department. She subsequently joined Kommunalkredit International Bank Ltd where she set up the Legal Department. She spent there 5 years and held the position of Head of the Legal Department’s Loans and Financing Desk. She is now an Advocate / Partner at KPK Legal of which she is one of the founding partners. Her areas of practice include banking law with a specialisation in international and public financing, corporate law, commercial law, shipping/maritime law, real estate law and employment law. She is a member of the Cyprus Bar Association and of the English Bar.
Andreas holds a Masters Degree (MSc) in Finance and Economics from the London School of Economics and Political Science. He holds an Investment Firms Certificate of Dealing on Own Account and Portfolio Management from the Ministry of Finance in Cyprus. His extensive experience in the financial services advisory field includes advising and consulting numerous Investment Firms in Cyprus and a broad range of other international businesses and vehicles in the financial services sector. He has worked within various regulatory jurisdictions in relation to a diverse range of financial structures. His experience also includes the provision of asset management services to a diverse range of professional investors and the successful completion of multiple projects in the retail forex industry.

Our corporate administration team

Maria has joined AMF Global Ltd in December 2013 as Head of the Fund Administration Services department. Maria holds a BA in Accounting and Financial Management from the University of Essex and she is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales (ACA).  She started her career at KPMG where she worked as an external auditor for clients in various industries.  After four years with KPMG, she moved to Athens where she worked as an Assistant Manager in the Finance and Control department of the EFG Eurobank Group, managing the preparation of the Group’s consolidated financial statements under International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and also leading various projects involving the IFRS reporting of the group.  She continued her career in Kommunalkredit International Bank Ltd as a Manager in the Accounting and Controlling department responsible for the Central Bank reporting and involved in the preparation of the consolidated financial statements.  In 2007, she moved to London where she continued her career in the Finance department of MF Global Ltd, a major global financial derivatives broker, initially as an Assistant to the Financial Controller and then as the Finance Head of the newly formed Sarbanes and Oxley team of the company.  Prior to moving back to Cyprus, Maria held the post of the Finance Director of a start-up retail company in London.  
Katia graduated from the University of Fribourg Switzerland with a BA (Hons) in French/German. She started her career at Banque SBA in Back Office for three years and then moved onto KommunalKredit International Bank where she was Back Office Manager. She was responsible for Swift payments, settlement of MM/FX/Swaps/CP and processing all daily payments and daily reconciliation of the banks. After seven years with KommunalKredit International Bank she moved to Omega Investments as Head of Back Office where she was responsible to prepare daily customer reports and reconciliation. Katia joined us in November 2012 and leads the team of corporate administration.
Elena started her career with Francoudi & Stephanou Ltd working in the shipping department dealing with preparation of import/export manifests, bill of ladings, customs manifests and invoices, as well as handling management secretarial duties. After nineteen years she moved to Chrysses Demetriades & Co Law firm as a personal assistant for the Shipping Finance department responsible for corporate documentation, liaising with clients and governmental departments for the purpose of coordinating the transactions. After four years she moved to KommunalKredit Int Bank as Office Manager and personal assistant to three Regional managers where she was responsible for all administration duties. Elena has been with AMF Global Ltd for two years where she is an integral part of the team. She is responsible for the day to day overall management of the office.
Elena graduated from Frederick Institute of Technology in Cyprus in Business Studies. She started her career at Tradex Stores Ltd as office administrator. After four years she moved onto Francoudi & Stephanou Ltd in charge of front desk and all administration services for seven years. She then moved to KommunalKredit International Bank where she worked as office administrator to all managers and employees. Elena has been with AMF Global Ltd for two years where she is in charge of all front office duties.
Zina graduated from the University of Ukraine with Bachelors in Philology & Translation of English and German. She then completed a master in Business Administration at the College of Tourism in Nicosia. Zina is a fundamental part of the corporate administration team providing corporate services for a variety of multinational companies, working with Russian as well as Ukrainian clients. She speaks Russian, Ukrainian, English, German and Greek. She has experience in translation of legal documents.
Svetlana Ridel has graduated the Altai State Pedagogical Academy, the Faculty of Linguistics with a Master Degree in English and German Languages. During the year of graduation she has undertaken her study placement at Northern Arizona University, Flagstaff, USA. Additionally, Svetlana has received an English translator’s specialization from the Linguistics Faculty and since then she has been continuously involved into written and oral consecutive translations of mainly legal and banking documentation. At the moment Svetlana continues her education at a private Institute studying accounting and has recently joined our team in the position of a Corporate Administrator.
Andri graduated from the University of Cyprus with a diploma in Turkish Language. Andrie previously worked for a law firm and an architectural office where she gained valuable experience of working in a busy environment. She now supports the corporate administration team with all their needs.
Kika graduated from Deree College, The American College of Greece with a B.Sc. in Business Administration/Accounting and Finance. She started her career at Options Cassoulides Group of Companies as Project Accountant, Internal Auditor and finally as Financial Controller Assistant being responsible for the presentation of project’s accounts to the clients, on-site cash handling at congresses as well as monthly management accounts reporting. Then moved to Greenoak Holdings Group of Companies at the position of Management Accountant being responsible for the Consolidated Financial Reporting and statement analysis. Subsequently at Kommunalkredit International Bank as Manager in Accounting and Controlling Department preparing reports to the Central Bank and Consolidated Financial Statements to the Holding Company. For three years she served Seatankers Mgmt Ltd as Manager in Accounting and Investment Department. Kika joined us in October 2013 as the Financial Controller of AMF Global ltd and Kannava, Kitromilidou and Co LLC.

Varnavas Playbell obtained his Bachelor of Laws degree LLB (Hons) from the University of Manchester, UK. After earning a scholarship from the Fulbright Commission he went on to obtain a Master of Laws degree LLM (Hons) from the University of Chicago, USA whereby he acquired in- depth knowledge of corporate and commercial areas of laws and a solid understanding of the principles of law and economics. years as an Associate providing legal services and assistance to international clientele, either directly or in partnership with major international law firms, predominantly in relation to high profile, cross border, corporate transactions. He joined KPK Legal as an Advocate/Senior Associate. His main practice area include Merger & Acquisitions, Corporate Finance, Financial Services (Regulatory) and Corporate and Commercial Law in general. He is a member of the New York Bar Association and the Cyprus Bar Association
Tereza graduated from the University of Warwick with an LL.B (Hons) degree in Law from where she subsequently obtained an LL.M in International Development Law and Human Rights. She started her career at Costas Melas & Co LLC and subsequently joined KPK Legal as a Junior Advocate. She works in the corporate department and deals with a great variety of corporate law and commercial law issues ranging from the incorporation of companies to the drafting of commercial documentation and provision of relevant advice. Her main areas of practice include corporate, commercial and real estate law. She is a member of the Cyprus Bar Association.
Theodora graduated from the University of Leicester with an LL.B (Hons) degree in Law and, after having attended the Bar Vocational Course at the College of Law (Bloomsbury), she was called to the Bar by Middle Temple. She subsequently obtained a Master’s Degree (LL.M) in EU Law from the University of Westminster. She started her career at the Law offices of Chrysses Demetriades & Co LLC where she worked as an advocate in the Litigation Department. She then worked for Patrikios Pavlou & Co LLC as an advocate in the Corporate Litigation Department. She subsequently joined the corporate department at KPK legal where she deals with the whole spectrum of corporate law and commercial law issues. She is also involved in Competition law issues. Her areas of practice include civil litigation, company, commercial and competition law.
Anna has graduated from the University of Buckingham with an LLB (Hons) degree in Law and subsequently obtained a Master’s Degree (LLM) in International and Commercial Law, Oil and Gas Specialist (Merit). Since September 2012 she is a member of our corporate law team.
